WHO ARE WE?
In close collaboration with the teams of C2N, (the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies CNRS/University of Paris-Saclay), the world specialist in ion sources for nanoelectronics, Professor Jacques Giérak with 30+ patents filed and 35+ years of research conducted at CNRS, has partnered with the venture builder Technofounders (TF) to propose an industrial and at-scale model for a new kind of space electric propulsion.
Following its creation a year ago, ION-X has secured €3.8 million in financing to support its R&D development and plan a demonstration mission by mid-2024. This financing round was carried out with TF Participations, Expansion, Business Angels, and with additional support from Bpifrance.
Beginning of research on focused ion beams (FIB)
World first for a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) with ionic liquid by CNRS
Launch of CNES R&T for the development of EHD engine with ionic liquid
First test of a prototype at C2N-CNRS
Creation of ION-X and recruitment of first team members
Seed funding and acceleration of full thruster development

In collaboration with our Systems & Products Engineer, your mission is to implement a satellite trajectory calculation solution to assess the technical and economic interest of the ION-X thruster on the different phases of a satellite's life: stationing, maintenance in orbit, debris avoidance, constellation phasing and deorbiting.
